A little further away there are Åkulla beech forests as a very attractive area. Here there are many nice places to visit and many hiking trails. Visit the Tomb of the Buckstone Man and the Talking Stones of Bexel. Varberg is a real summer town with a throng of people, taverns, cafes and dance halls, everything that belongs to a summer town. The massive Varberg Fortress guards the entrance to the harbor and can be seen from afar. Go on a tour down into the bastions and casemates, follow along from the 13th century to our own time.
